Nepali music and dance

Nepal’s major cultural art forms are music and dance. As an oral society with, until recently, minimal standards of literacy, music and dance are very important in day to day life.

Music and dance forms a fundamental part of all rituals, celebrations, festivals and social occasions, and Nepalis are generally always ready to join in.

This song is called Choli Ramro and is a catchy song about beautiful clothes.

Next is a Dohori which is an improvised song between a girl and boy. Dohori are often flirtatious and are traditionally sung when working in the fields, collecting food for animals, and so on.
