We work in Nepal hand-in-hand with local schools and their communities to find and select children that are not going to school, or need help to go regularly. So far we’ve helped over 1,000.

Currently, we’re working with about 30 schools. Two of these 30 schools were built by Himalayan Learning.

Selecting children

We don’t choose the children we sponsor – we ask the communities to tell us who needs help. After all, who better to know than the teachers, the school, or the villagers themselves.

We do however ensure that we support at least 2/3 or 66% girls.

We also ensure that most of the children are from Nepali vulnerable minorities, such as Dalits (untouchables) and tribal groups.
