Visiting new schools in the Himalaya is hard work. This particular school was a five hour walk from the nearest road.
When we arrive in the schools our volunteers and other workers meet and interact with the local children to see how their education is going. Afterwards we talk to the staff and call a local meeting to find out which children in the area are not coming to school.
Often the schools are in such poor quality that they do not have sufficient places to sit, holes in the roof, no windows or doors, and little or no educational equipment.
