Handmade Shawl

Himalayan Learning once commissioned a small collection of handmade shawls and sold them to raise money.

The shawls are made by the same group of women that make our school bags using handlooms. The women get a very good price for their workmanship, they get cash to support their households, and Himalayan Learning raises funds for its projects. They would make excellent presents, can be worn as a shawl or used as a bed or armchair cover. Each 193cm x 54cm shawl takes a week to make.
