The film that we have been working on for the past six months has finally been printed and released.
The DVD consists of the film that we made in Nepal plus some fancy graphics as an introduction and a ‘Director’s Commentary’.
The aim of the DVD is to help sponsors feel closer to the people that they are helping. Most will have never had any experience of Nepali life and won’t really understand the meaning of poverty.
Most still think that children with their ribs showing like those in Niger at the moment mean poverty, but that’s not exactly true.
That is famine and starvation, poverty doesn’t necessarily mean that, in Nepal it simply means that 1 in 10 children die before age 5 and only 2 in 10 girls can read or write. The film illustrates our project in Nepal in 2005, below is the spread of the DVD cover.
