Brothers and sisters

It is common for families living in the Himalaya to have very large families and to live with their extended relatives. An average house will consist of grandparents, their children, and their childrens’ children. Often this means that there are 20-30 people in one house.

Similarly many villages also often consist of one extended family that have intermarried with the rest of the village, including inter-caste and inter-tribe marriages.
